Subject: Johnny Cash concert I went to the Nov. 9, 1996 Johnny Cash show at the Fillmore in San Francisco. It was great and the crowd of about 2,000 was really into it, and you could see that Johnny was affected by and appreciated their enthusiasm. I thought I'd send you a playlist from my memory, although not in specific order, although I do remember he opened with Folsom Prison Blues and closed with a Boy Named Sue. Other songs:
There may be a few more, but those were the best I remember. Also, June Carter Cash played about 6 songs, including a few gospel songs, for about 30 minutes. Johnny played an hour to start the show, then June came out with him, then she played for 30 minutes, then Johnny played 30 more minutes solo before ending with A Boy Named Sue. As me and my friend walked out of the Fillmore after the concert, I saw Johnny walk down the side stairs and out the front door and directly in his bus, driving off into the San Francisco night. It was a great show that I'll never forget. |
